The Rubroshorea pauciflora, previously known as Shorea pauciflora, is an emergent forest tree native to Singapore with the conservation status of ‘endangered’. It has a distinct scaly bole and often large buttresses. It belongs to the dark red Meranti group and produces valuable timber.

This majestic tree is part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ rainforest. It has a straight bole up to 60 m tall. It is near to the edge of the rainforest and can be easily viewed from Lower Ring Road.

The road name, Nemesu Avenue, near the Lower Peirce Reservoir area, was named after this species.
